Obsidian — Filter by hotkeys
Any power user will tell you this:
“Pros use hotkeys/keyboard shortcuts.”
The difference in productivity can be day and night.
A friend would even argue that you recognise an expert by how the latter uses keyboard shortcuts all the time.
Hard to disagree.
> Therefore, I recommend learning the top 20 most used keyboard shortcuts in your favourite apps.
This remains the same for our favourite Knowledge Management tool, Obsidian.
Now, let’s say you want to add a new hotkey, for example, “Daily Note.” However, you’re unsure which key to use or if it’s already selected.
Here’s a quick solution. Open the menu and go to Hotkeys:
Now you can either look for the name if it’s present.
Let’s say I want to use the keys Alt + Shift + D or Ctrl + Shift + D but I’m not sure if it already exists or not. I just click on the keyboard icon and enter the hotkey.
It’s free.
I can therefore choose it.

You can use it for many built-in features or with the thousands of community plugins.
